On 17th August 2019, Damian celebrated his 50th birthday. Reason enough to throw a party! He and I celebrated 30 years together in February 2018 and after what were probably too many celebratory drinks following a lovely meal, I asked him if he'd like to get married.

He said "yes".

Our wedding took place on the same day as his 50th birthday.

​

We have had the most wonderful 30 years together, but in 2017 Damian suffered a series of strokes which have had a devastating effect on our lives. Thanks to some amazing care and therapy combined with his determination and hard work, he is making a remarkable recovery. I cannot begin to say how grateful we are that the love and support of our friends and family, Damian's employer, my colleagues and the devoted care of so many nurses, doctors and therapists have got us where we are today, and I hope will get us further still.
